Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the flight take?

We aim for 10 – 15 minutes (regular course) or 20+ minutes (VIP course) of flying time depending on the conditions, the wind strength and direction and of course on how the passenger feels and reacts to the experience. Our aim is always to make it fun and enjoyable. We recommend you set aside a good part of the day to be able to take advantage of the best conditions as it is sometimes necessary to wait for the weather to improve or to change sites.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, if possible outdoor clothing like well fitting sneakers (no high heels or sandals) and long pants. You may also want to bring sunglasses.

What is the weight limit?

Most people are between 20-120 kilos. Please let us know if you do not belong to this category. Again, you must be able to do at least a little bit of running (sprint).

What is the height limit?

In terms of height, there are no official restrictions; you just need to be able to comfortably fit in the harness.

What is the age limit?

Anyone able to run a little (sprint) is eligible for flying. Under the age of 18, you need your parents’ consent. Please let us know if you are not 18-60 years old.

What if I have a disability?

If possible we will fly people with disabilities. Please call us and have a chat to find out more before booking.

Can I bring my (phone) camera?

Yes! But at your own risk. We take no responsibility for any loss or damage to your personal possessions. You will however be given a recorded video of your flight

What is the best season to fly?

In winter, we have extra layers of warm clothing available. The scenery may be even more beautiful when there is snow. Spring and autumn are most popular seasons to fly. In the summer months there may be rain due to the monsoon.

Is paragliding like skydiving, parasailing, parachuting, BASE jumping?

These other activities are often confused with paragliding. Parasailing is what you do out on the ocean behind a boat. Parachutes are used in skydiving from an airplane and are designed to be deployed during a free-fall from an airplane and to then descend to the ground. Base jumping is a form of skydiving. Base jumpers leap from Buildings, Antennas, Span, or Earth. Base jumpers experience free fall before deploying their parachutes and descending to the earth. The feeling of flying a paraglider can be very peaceful and serene.

How dangerous is tandem paragliding?

We have the right practices to make your flight a safe one. Also, our pilots have many years of experience and we use only the latest and safest paragliding equipment. Paragliding is not risk free – but then neither is driving a car. Statistically paragliding is quite safe as compared to other sports. In the extremely unlikely event of an accident, you are covered by the pilots insurance.

What if I feel dizzy or nausea while flying?

When paragliding you may experience vertigo. People tend to be more susceptible to nausea when they aren’t in control, as when being a tandem passenger. It happens for example in cars, people get sick in the passenger seat who don’t get sick when they are driving. When you feel you get sick, tell the pilot and he will take measures. (If you are not feeling well we slow things down and just cruise around to allow you to recover and enjoy.) We assume that our customers are in good health and don’t have any special requirements due to ill health or medical conditions.

Here are some tips to prevent dizziness and nausea:

  • Do not let yourself get dehydrated.

  • Drink little or no alcohol the night before you fly.

  • Get enough sleep before you fly.

  • Don’t eat any weird stuff before you fly–especially super greasy or spicy food.

  • Don’t eat too much food before you fly, and don’t fly on a completely empty stomach either.

  • Try not to get too hot and sweaty before you take off. Leave your jacket unzipped until you reach a high altitude where you need to close it.

  • Breathe slowly and deeply whenever you can remember to do it.

  • Don’t move your head around too much when you are turning, coring thermals, spiraling, etc.

  • Small sips of water only. Don’t drink too much too fast when flying.

What about the weather? What if it rains or the winds are too strong?

Our instructors have all the necessary knowledge to judge the weather conditions and will only proceed with a flight if they are certain that safety will not be compromised. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, then we will simply have to reschedule for another day.

How come the weather conditions are so important?

Like all other aviation activity, paragliding is extremely dependent on the weather. We will not compromise and take unnecessary risks if the conditions are not suitable for flying.

What if the flight needs to be cancelled?

We always check the weather forecast beforehand. However if the weather conditions aren’t good for flying on the chosen day we will reschedule your flight to another date. If by any chance you prefer not to fly, we offer 100% reimbursement., but you need to cancel your flight at least 24 hours before the time of flying to get full reimbursement.

What is your cancellation policy?

We would appreciate at least 48 hours advance notice to allow time to schedule others to take your place. Groups of 4 or more require 72 hours advance notice for a full refund. There are no refunds for no-shows, late arrivals, or early departures unless prior arrangement has been made. For our International Tours/Travel: Do to the complications of planning longer trips, our cancellation policy is as follows: For international travels, we strongly recommend that you purchase a Travel Insurance package. There are several companies to choose from, and we recommend that you do some research and make sure you are getting a policy that covers Paragliding and related activities. For every cancellation, we charge you either a 5% (PayPal) or a 2,000 won (bank) commission.
